Andrew Batsakis
Independent Member, Investment Committee
Andrew is an Independent Member of Lipman Burgon’s Investment Committee, bringing two decades of institutional investment experience across private equity, venture capital and alternative assets.
Andrew brings deep institutional investment experience, having spent 20 years with The University of Sydney’s Endowment, where he has built and led the Private Equity and Venture Capital program since its inception in 2006.
He has extensive global networks across buyout, venture, growth and secondaries, with a strong track record in manager research, due diligence and portfolio construction.
A CAIA Charterholder and graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course, Andrew was admitted as both a Solicitor and Barrister in Victoria for 20 years. He currently serves as a Governor of the Australian Research Theology Foundation and has guest lectured in private equity and alternative assets.
Recognised as a Private Equity Elite Allocator by Markets Group in 2025, an award for the institutional investors shaping the future of private equity, Andrew holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics and Finance) from the University of Melbourne.
With his strong track record across traditional and alternative asset classes, Andrew joins Jason Coggins as Lipman Burgon’s two independent Investment Committee members, strengthening our governance and decision-making, and further supporting the family offices and for purpose organisations the firm is privileged to serve.
